Front End Applications Developer (Salary £30k - £35k)

We are looking for a bright and ambitious Front End Applications Developer who possesses a creative passion for technology, and thrives when working within a team of like-minded people to deliver outstanding work.
 
Working in a fast paced environment you will have the opportunity to work on projects from large-scale websites to smartphone and touchscreen applications. Therefore, the ability to adapt your skills quickly and work under pressure to demanding deadlines is a must. Your code must be flawless and you will be a stickler for detail.
 
This role is ideal for someone who has 3–5 years experience and is looking to work in an exciting, fun and challenging environment.

Job purpose
The primary aim of the Front End Application Developer will be to work with project teams to deliver top quality, compliant user interfaces across a range of platforms and devices. They will be required to bridge the gap between design and technology to ensure that the end user experience is the best it can be.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
·       Implementation of front ends for applications – websites, touchscreens and mobile.
·       Co-ordination and specification of front-end coding standards across the company.
·       Ensuring that accessibility, compliance and compatibility standards are met.

Essential
·       Excellent HTML/XHTML, CSS, AJAX and Javascript skills.
·       Ability to produce compliant code from supplied creative designs.
·       Hands on technical experience with MySQL database driven websites.
·       Experience with PHP frameworks such as Symfony.
·       Understanding of user-centred design, accessibility and standards compliance.
·       Knowledge of PHP Content Management Systems such as Drupal or Joomla.
·       Demonstrable portfolio of work.
 
Desirable
·       Flash/Flex.
·       Java or .NET.

Person specification
·       Organised, motivated, pro-active – You won't need to be excessively managed in order to get your job done.
·       Able to work to deadlines and under pressure – You'll understand how to plan your work and make sure you deliver on time.
·       Ability to use own initiative – You'll work things out for yourself and won't wait to be told.
·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills – You'll be able to write documents for clients and explain designs and concepts to them.
·       Knowledgeable and passionate about the industry – You'll love digital and have a proven track record.
